Rainbow Corner Pre-School and Playgroup is dedicated to creating an inclusive and diverse environment where every child can thrive. Rainbow Corner’s aim is to provide an environment in which all children, parents and staff feel comfortable, secure and happy.

Rainbow Corner can offer morning pre-school places which are funded by the Education Authority and afternoon playgroup places which are not funded.

We are a charity

Rainbow Corner Pre-School and Playgroup is a non-profit making organisation, registered as a charity with The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland and HM Revenue & Customs and run by a committee. The committee is responsible for the overall administration of Rainbow Corner Pre-School and Playgroup.

The committee is comprised of four office bearers:

  • Chairperson
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Vice Chair
  • At least two others (a maximum 10 trustees altogether) which are made up of parents and interested others.

We would encourage parents to be part of the committee as it has to have some new parents each year. Please speak to a member of staff about this.

Throughout the year the committee and staff hold various fundraising events and activities for the children and their families. As a charity, this is important to enable us to offer the children extra activities and learning opportunities. It would also be great if parents could come up with fundraising ideas and support the fundraising we do. All money raised is to the benefit of the children.

Our Aims & Objectives

We encourage children’s creativity, imagination and independence through free choice play and planned activities between the indoor and outdoor environment. We will treat each child as an individual no matter what their background. We will support and encourage them to develop and learn at their own pace to achieve their full potential.

Our children will follow a curriculum using a wide range of resources and activities which will be encouraged through the six areas of learning which are stipulated by Department of Education for Northern Ireland (DENI).

We provide a valuable step between home and primary school, working closely with parents and carers to support their child’s development. We encourage the input and involvement of parents and have an open-door policy so you will feel comfortable that your child is happy and receiving the best possible care.

Rainbow Corner Pre-School and Playgroup will promote positive images of all races, cultures and abilities with displays, books, equipment, resources and activities from a variety of cultural and religious traditions.
